Let's talk about Ashwagandha

Let's talk about Ashwagandha

If there has been one Indian herb that seems to be trending at the moment, then it is Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera). Literally translated as "scent of the horse", this herb is an Adaptogen which means it is a natural substance that helps the body resist and adapt to stress.

I have a number of friends who are top athletes and I know from inside sources that this is one herb that they are consuming regularly to help them train and recover as well as relax and regenerate after a workout. In ancient India, it has been said that warriors would consume Ashwagandha before going into battle to not only find the strength to fight but the ability to recover quickly as well.

Lucky for us, we are not rushing into battle anytime soon, but our modern day lives are akin to an ancient Indian battlefield. We are constantly bombarded with information and stimuli, both physical and mental and can find our lives stressful and worried. One major side effect of stress is the mind's inability to relax and fall asleep. This is where our Ashwagandha Ayurvedic Tea comes into its own. Our tea combines Ashwagandha with a number of other herbs to help the body not only recover from stress but also allow you to sleep well.

Below are a few other benefits of Ashwagandha

  1. Combat fatigue, relieve stress, anxiety, boost stamina and energy
  2. Improve memory and concentration
  3. Support heart health
  4. Boost fertility and testosterone in men
  5. Lower blood sugar and fat

Handmade in Nepal, Ashwagandha is carefully dried and used in several teas and herbal jams. You can try our Ayurvedic Himalayan tea Ashwagandha for insomnia, sound sleep, natural relaxation and a harmonious state of mental health or as part of our Herbal Jam Majjaprash to assist with nervous tension
